Changes in society can be an impact on many people, but the way it can imprint all depends on what your role is in society. In this case, the Industrial Revolution, was a big change that affected British society in many ways. The Industrial Revolution was a shift from a rural age, to a more modernized one. This abrupt shift gave England a lead on the trade and commerce industry because of the increase on money the country was obtaining. On the other hand, it also sparked negativity throughout communities. For example, there were many deaths in cotton mills, and allowing inexperienced and experienced workers to earn the same amount, outraged people. Although the Industrial Revolution helped in the modernization of England, the downsides to it showed how badly it affected people, and their living and working conditions.

Before the Industrial Revolution, the people were much happier, with their flexible work hours, safe work environments, and better living conditions. This revolution looked great as big picture, but the details were sloppy when really looked closely at. The money was put in the center of the stage, while the mistreated people were the ones doing the hard work backstage. However, even though the Industrial Revolution had some positive effects that would shape the world’s trade and commerce, the negative effects overpower it. In short, the effects of the Industrial Revolution in England had both its upsides and downsides, but the upsides catered to 20% of the people. The rich who could afford to not work in factories and not risk their lives every time they stepped through the musty environment.
