INTERVIEW “TIP” SHEET
1. Prepare for the Interview!
Researched company web site and information.
Fully understand “what” the company is looking for.
Prepared to draw parallels of your experience.
2. Don’t Forget…
Take several copies of your resume.
Have a prepared list of professional references.
Portfolio with paper and pen for notes.
Pre-written questions you want to ask about the company and the position.
3. Dress for Success! Conservative & Professional.
4. Arrive Early!
5. Application ~ fill it out completely! Write “open” when asked about compensation or position preferred.
6. Listen attentively! Answer questions to the point and always give an example of your experience when ever possible!
7. Do not discuss money! If prompted by the employer the very best way to handle this question is to say… “I am currently earning $…, I am open to a fair offer based on my experience and what I can contribute to your team!”
8. Do not discuss benefits. If you meet with a Human Resources member it is likely that they will give you an overview of benefits. However, it is not appropriate to discuss benefits with the Hiring Manager on the first interview.
9. Be prepared to ask for the job!!
“Thank you for the time you’ve spent with me today. I am confident that I can make a positive and immediate contribution to your team. I am very excited about joining your team! Based on the
