Every year, movie producers try to make the next big movie. Some succeed and some do not. Successes include The Hunger Games, The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Jurassic World. Notice how Jupiter Ascending, which came out in February of 2015, did not make the list. Obviously, Jupiter Ascending was produced to be a blockbuster. It has all the typical characteristics of a blockbuster hit: an ordinary girl who is actually royalty, her good-looking savior and love interest, an evil villain looking to kill millions for profit, and an action-filled plot complete with laser gun fights. But, unlike the super successful movies of the last few years, Jupiter Ascending did not become an instant hit. Jupiter Jones is an ordinary citizen of Earth, who, because she has the exact same genetic make-up as a deceased intergalactic empress, is the heir to the House of Abrasax, the powerful alien ruling family that owned Earth and many other planets.
