Karl Marx lived during the growth of the industrial labor work force. This was a time where people sold their labor as a resource. Before this, it was common for people to own their own work. Karl Marx believed human labor is essential, its what makes us special and different from animals. If we are able to work we are able to be creative and flourish. We can take pride in our work.
