Seminar Alternative Assignment Many things make up the organizational strategy phase of Business Process Management. When the objectives for the organization cannot be met, the introduction of process management is linked to the organizational strategy as well as performance measurement and management of the staff. On occasion, the organizational strategy is not considered in the business process, but in most cases, an implicit organization strategy exists (Jeston & Nelis, 2008). There should be a brief analysis of the strategy, so that there is an understanding of the business and the work done to define the essential foundations of the organization. The most important purpose of the strategy phase is to develop an original, top-down progression map. It depicts the business in terms of the processes and represents the starting point for any business process enhancement. The organizational strategy will only be referenced in order to make sure that the assignment is aligned and adds value to the strategy. The organizational strategy is the foundation of any business process management (BPM) project. One of the goals is to make sure that there is a clear connection from the BPM project and the organizational strategy (Jeston & Nelis, 2008). The organizational strategy is the categorization that determines that a project is necessary to determine the extent of the project, which applications, data, and processes will be obstructed. The intent of an organizational strategy has three acknowledgements and they are a sense of direction, a sense of discovery, and a sense of destiny (Jeston & Nelis, 2008). The three attributes mainly are a particular long-term view about in regards to the market that the organization plans to build, a competitive distinctive approach about what is expected, and a worthwhile goal that is perceived by the staff. There is an importance of the original thought, strategic intent, leadership, project management, and change to management with relation to the phase of the organizational strategy. As it relates to original thought, it means that all parties involved in brainstorming for the strategy has the capacity to think or act in an independent way and the thoughts will not be derived from another source. Original thoughts maintain the quality of being brand new, fresh, and novelty as of an idea, method, or performance. Original thoughts are important because it is a way that a business can improve their products and services, so that they are not the same as the competition or other businesses. Many companies want to stand out as being uniquely different from any other business. Strategic intent holds important lessons for small businesses that are aiming to grow and succeed in the business world. Strategic intent is more than unrestricted ambition. It incorporates a committed management process that motivates the organization on the principle of winning. It becomes stable over a period of time and stretches the attention span of the company. For the reason that it involves a wide-ranging and long-term target, it should be commendable of the personal attention and commitment of top management. It creates a sense of urgency and improvement of the motivation of the entire organization. Leadership is one of the most important roles that one can hold in the business world. Leadership is so important because it is vital because training and development of the leaders will maximize productivity, helps in shaping a positive culture, and promotes harmony throughout his or her department. The key to achieving this is ensure that the personnel must lead his or her individuals and teams by utilizing the appropriate leadership style.
