Madam C. J. Walker was a remarkably successful individual who changed the history of women entirely. From a little kid to the woman she became, she worked hard to achieve her goals of improving her life and others. Her traumatic childhood was a challenge that she overcame to become a successful millionaire. Her success beat any other competitors like Disney or Andrew Ly, for what she gave was valuable help rather than money or fame. Many people believe they are not good enough for a successful career, and might even say they aren’t capable of making a difference in the world. This is simply not the case, as even a person who has suffered through much adversity in their life can make such changes that impact the whole history of women. Losing her parents was a devastating event for her, but she kept persevering in her dreams. After her first husband’s passing, she and her daughter moved in with her brothers. As stated in the article, Madam C.J. Walker, “Walker spent several years working as a laundrywoman for $1.50 a day to earn enough money to send her daughter to school.” Determined to see her daughter happy, she worked day and night, all while studying during the night for her career. After discovering she had a scalp condition, she went on to try to figure out a solution. Her determination led her to creating a haircare line that was specifically targeting African American hair. Slowly, this haircare line became one that suited everyone. Due to all her strength, she soon became a woman that would be remembered in history, propelling her name along with her wealth.
