The movie Mamma Mia was really good. It came out in 2008 and the director of the movie is Phyllida Lloyd. It had a few dance numbers but a lot more singing. It starred Amanda seyfried (Sophia) and Meryl streep (Donna), along with Colin firth (harry), pierce brosnan (Sam), and stellan skarsgard (bill). The songs the cast performed were made in the 70’s by Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus also known as ABBA. There were upbeat songs along with slow saddening songs to fit the mood.
The movie was about Amanda seyfrieds character getting married and she wants her father to walk her down the aisle. Her mother (Meryl streep) doesn’t know who her father is though. So she ends up finding her mom's diary from the year she was born and she invites three men who could possibly be her father (Colin firth, pierce brosnan, and stellan skarsgard). Everything starts to fall apart when her mother finds out that all three men are there and they all think they're her father. By the time the wedding arrives her father is still not known but Meryl streeps character and pierce brosnan character gets married.
I had moments where I liked it and others where I didn’t. in the music i personally liked only a few songs that were played like "Honey, Honey" where Sophia is reading the diary to her friends , "Mamma Mia" when donna finds out her exes are there, "Lay All Your Love On Me" where Sophia and her fiancée are on the beach before they’re bachelor and bachelorette party ,
