Examples of pollution are often understood to be a chemical substance such as emission gases from cars or factory toxins, but pollution is not limited to a liquid or gas. Pollution can also be observed as a physical form such as plastic and/or waste at landfills. To fully grasp how diminutive we recycle Robert Kiener said, “The world uses more than 100 million tons of plastic annually but recycles less than 5 percent of it” (157). Pollution given off of old computers and other harmful products, can create a domino effect in decreasing the effectiveness of our ozone. However, we can eliminate this while conserving our atmosphere by recycling these products appropriately by donating them to computer stores or even charities. in order to preserve our Earth atmosphere. These harmful chemicals and objects damage our atmosphere by rising global warming which effects the circle of life from animals to human beings. There are some whom beliefs challenge the action of recycling by arguing that pollution is not globally widespread enough to make any impact or difference. We need to keep in mind that every action starts off as a thought, growing into a larger concept, then spreads around the world. It just takes time. Recycling today will help produce a safer, more pollutant free environment for all walks of life …show more content…
Recycling benefits the economy in many ways. One-way recycling can help boost our economy is by increasing jobs. With the demand for recycling factories, this will result in a rise for the demand of labor workers and factory plant owners. Another way recycling benefits the economy would be on the value of homes. Nobody wants to live near a dirt pile filled with waste because it can decrease your home or office value for marketing. With recycling, this would help eliminate landfills. While the waste landfills are decreasing, this will help push for a transfer into eco-friendlier recycling plants. The declining percentage of landfills would also result in a decrease of pollution, an increase in healthier groundwater, and a better economy for neighborhoods surrounding the landfill. The amount of recycling from 12 southern states and Puerto Ricco in 1995 came to an estimated value of $18.5 billion (“Top Reasons to” 5). Some people would argue the amount of money it takes to reconstruct a plastic bottle outweighs the total cost of what you would save, money wise as well as environment wise. Lastly, recycling will help businesses across the nation. Although during the establishment it might be expensive at first for a new growing industry, every first-handed company experiences economic disputes. With more jobs fluctuating the market, the strains and stresses of the people will overcome this little
