McGregor’s Theory Y helped the Whole Foods store because it allowed the managers to start viewing their employees in a different manner than they had before. Instead of seeing all the employees in a negative way, management open there minds to viewing employees as self-energized, committed, responsible, and creative human beings. Theory Y being implemented in a Whole food store made room for the employees to engage in their work and feel connected to the company and comfortable with management. Studies have shown that more people, for the most part, who want to go above and beyond, to be an essential part of the company’s success but there is a disconnect with an immediate supervisor or an employee feels that the organization does not care
