I believe Mikhali Lomonosov idea of how the earth was formed was based off flawed Critical Thinking habits although in the 1700's it wasn't to much technology he could have utilized to get a more logical outlook on how the earth was created but to think that it formed independently of the other planets makes me think that the may have received some incorrect information or rushed to judgment about how the earth was created. On the other hand I think William Thompson had the best Critical Thinking Habits-of-mind and unlike Lomonosov he had a century of advancement to come to a logical answer to how the earth was created. Which he explained the earth was created by millions of years of cooling which is similar to how some scientist of today
