One occupational related illness that I acquired a particular interest for is the musculoskeletal disorders (MSDS).
Musculoskeletal disorders are injuries which effect many parts throughout the body including back injury, tendon injuries, ligaments and tissues.
The causes of this illness occurring may include: repetitive movements and heavy lifting for example: moving the patients out of bed. Also nurses are continuously on the move and are used to working for long periods of time without a break. Depending on the temperature of the environment whether it be a cold or hot environment can have a great affect on developing musculoskeletal problems. As a nurse you proceed in a lot of bending and twisting because of the duties and responsibilities
