To begin, Rainsford demonstrates bravery when he jumps into the water off of the cliff. In the story the author says, "He heard the hounds, then leaped far out into the sea"(line 602). Rainsford very well could have died by doing this. However, he decides it would be more logical to jump and at least try to survive. Which he did, this shows he is very brave. Another time Rainsford is brave is when he stands up to General Zarroff and said "Hunting? Good God, General Zarroff, what you speak of is murder"(line 337-338). Ralston has a big decision to make, " For the first time I seriously contemplate amputating my arm"(paragraph 27). Even if he had decided not to amputate his arm it was brave of him to even consider it. Majority, if not all people could never even imagine having to decide whether or not to amputate their own arm. It shows that he is very brave. He finally made a decision, "I push the knife into my wrist, watching my skin stretch inward, until the point finally pierces and sinks to its hilt"(paragraph 50). Most people would not be able to make this decision. He is able to make a life changing decision in a limited amount of time. He is extremely brave.
To conclude, in all three stories, My Dangerous Game, My Escape From North Korea and Tapped, the protagonists show that they are survivors by demonstrating bravery. Rainsford completes Zarroff's game, Lee escaped North Korea with her family and Ralston makes the choice to amputate his arm. All characters show that they are brave and that they are survivors.
