The use of bottled water is a convenience that people use on a daily basis. It's a quick resource for on the go and readily available for purchase at any store, gas station, or vending machine. People buy bottled water in bulk or single bottles based on their needs without stopping to think about the process of bottling water. There is a big market for bottled water and water bottling companies have a severe impact on people, the environments in societies, and on how water resources are attained.

In ARTICLE 1 it states “… companies continue to bottle water during the fourth year of the drought…” Not only are these companies making it harder for residents to have their water, but creating more of a drought in California. In SOURCE 2 (A MAP), shows a map of California color coded by places where companies gather their water from abnormally dry places that are in severe and exceptional droughts. The map shows four main companies that collect the most water in the most severe and exceptional drought-ridden areas. It is no surprise that the four main companies depicted on the map are Aqua, Arrowhead, Crystal Greyer and Dasin. There is a quote stated in SOURCE 2 that says “ your bottled waters comes from the most drought-ridden places in the country,” which is shown to be accurate in the map of the four different companies showing where they gather their water. Both of these sources use images to convey messages about what bottling companies are doing with water resources. In SOURCE 3 it has a picture of a company representative taking water from the public with a reason of someone taking the handle of the public’s local well handle to pump water. With a quote saying, “the pump don’t work cause vandals took the handle…but look...” directing the resident to the same water but now with a cost and a label. Showing they, water bottling companies, are the “vandals” forcing them to buy water now becoming a necessity. In SOURCE 4 it shows the comparisons between the past and present effects that water bottling companies have made to the environment. The image is divided into two parts called the “flow past” and “flow today.” In the “flow past,” it shows a green land with sufficient amount of water in a river. In the “today flow,” it shows the complete opposite, showing a dry, desert-like area with no water and a semi truck carrying water bottles away.
