Night and The Rose That Grew from the Concrete have very different but very similar lessons within the texts. Both passages explore the theme of resilience in the face of adversity by never giving up hope and working hard to keep succeeding even when everything was against them and their life choices.

Resilience is used at night by showing Elie surviving and pushing on to stay alive and making it out of the war. “Bite your lip, little brother.Don't cry.
