All major helping professionals throughout the world have codes outlining guidelines for ethical practice and it is their responsibility to have proper knowledge about the ethical codes.There are many ethical issues which may be of concern. According to me one of the ethical concern for novice clinician would be Competence.Competency includes both ethical and legal considerations. According to Sporong ethical competence at work requires the ability to integrate perception,reflection,action ,and to understand oneself and being responsible for ones own actions.A novice clinician may have doubt on his ability to understand and connect to the emotional problems of the clients .Several questions may come to his mind whether he can give the right …show more content…
I also believe even children have more ethical legal related concerns.Counselors must always focus on the legal rights of parents and guardians. As child they cannot take decisions and their parents have to take decisions on behalf of them and give informed consent.Sometimes a minor may want to keep their problem confidential and it becomes a dilemma for the clinician to balance between ethical obligation towards the child and legal rights of the parents.
