1.2 Describe the technology of each component in terms of its operating principles.

Keyboard

When you press a key, the keyboard controller detects the keystroke, the controller places a scan code in the keyboard buffer, indicating which key was pressed. The keyboard sends the computer an interrupt request, telling the CPU to accept the keystroke. Operating system responds controller repeats the letter if held. (White, 2008)

Mouse
Nowadays optical mouses are widely used. The main components of the optical mouse are the inbuilt optical sensor, the high speed camera which can take 1000 pictures at a time and the LED. The optical censor reads the movements of the optical mouse(moved by the user) with the help of the light rays which comes out

Memory and Monitor
When the CPU has processed the instructions and the programs, the results are transferred to the screen of the monitor via RAM. (White, 2008)
CPU and Memory
Memory is primarily of 3 types: Main Memory (RAM), Secondary Memory (Hard Disk) and Cache Memory. Cache memory acts as a buffer between the CPU and main memory (RAM). It is used to hold those parts of data and programs which are most frequently used by CPU. The parts of data and programs are transferred from secondary memory (Hard Disk) to CPU via main memory (RAM) and the results that are processed by CPU are transferred to secondary memory (Hard Disk) to be saved. Keyboard and Monitor
Keyboard is a kind of input device, it inputs the data and the instruction , the data and the instruction are transferred to the processor via RAM, when the processor has processed the data and instruction, the result is transferred to the screen of the monitor (Output Device) via RAM. (White,
