Task 4-Purpose of different software utilities
The purpose of different software utilities is that it controls the computer’s hardware and it helps to run the computer’s application software and systems software’s help to save and protect the computer’s data.
Disk compression- A disk compression compresses the files on the hard disk to make more space to store your important data.
Backup- When you backup something you are making a copy of it and it is stored on a hard disk so if you accidently lose your data you can just use the data you backed up.
Disk defragments- Disk defragmentation increases the storage space on your hard disk by rearranging the files on the hard disk to free up more space.

Also an anti-virus can improve the performance of a computer because it keeps your computer secure from viruses destroying valuable data and slowing the computer down.
Firewalls- Firewalls are basically like brick walls and viruses cannot get past that brick wall which means your computer is protected. A firewall improves the performance by acting as a barrier to block out unauthorised access to the network.
Removal of cookies- when cookies store information they take up space and they may have adware also sometime that information can be used to track things so it is best to remove cookies. Cookies take a lot of storage and when they do they can slow down the computer so when you delete some cookies it improves the performance and speed.
Internet history- The purpose of internet history is to record which websites you visit which you can then browse or search. Internet history can improve the performance of a computer by removing the history as the internet history is stored so removing it will speed up the
