First of all, our teacher informed us about a photo editor called Gimp. The program was exceptional, as it was completely free, but very difficult to use on any other software other than Windows, also a computer with a strong CPU was necessary. I began using the program, but couldn’t handle the amount of crashes, therefore I furtherly researched for another program to use. Most professional softwares require you to pay a monthly fee, which I don’t have the salary for. Instead, I found a program that had a long trial period, just enough time to edit all the pictures that I was going to pick. The program that I initially used was Photoshop CS6. Secondly, I made a presentation for the people, including the teacher, in design class. I pointed out the techniques, related the content to the unit and the reasoning for why I’d picked the following pictures. If there were any dissatisfaction within the class, about any of the pictures, I would take that into consideration, and cautiously pick the final pictures for the magazine. First of all, I wanted the pictures to specifically relate to sustainability, secondly, the picture had to fit to the font of the magazine, thirdly, the pictures had to be interesting, and come up with a motive or point and lastly, I wanted the pictures to be different from the others. Anything different is most likely to be unique. The photo series that were picked from the presentation wasn’t enough, to fill out the magazine. Moreover, I picked out additional pictures from the internet, made some adjustment(if necessary) using photoshop, and posted them up on the magazine. These additional pictures were mostly as a background picture or design. Once I gathered all my pictures, I put them based on the content, the picture to relate most to the content or title.
