Both works revolve around a main character in the myth “The Epic of Gilgamesh” it is a story talks about a great hero. Gilgamesh and Enkidu for example start off as enemies but they later create a friendship that forces them to be equal counterparts. Instead of being his rival he becomes his sidekick whom they now share an opposing threat by the name of Humbaba the novel is very different from this myth because the Nurse does not end up becoming an aide to McMurphy at all instead he befriends a patient inside the ward by the name of Chief Bromden. Throughout the novel chief is in complete withdrawal because her refuses to interact with anyone but McMurphy later changes that giving him hopes to rebel against the ward and Nurse Ratched. Another key thing that I noticed is that McMurphy always tells him that he is as big as a mountain but chief thinks otherwise. I find this very humorous because McMurphy is way smaller compared to chief yet he is still able to fight the forces of evil and plan an escape. Similarly, Gilgamesh is two thirds god while Enkidu is two thirds beast though he is a god they are both deemed
