Bindel includes in her article information on various cases of alleged organ trafficking victims along with facts about people who have chosen to donate their organs. Even though traffickers often renege on paying people what they promise for their organs. People who are poor and desperate will still sell them this is because to them the small amount of money that they ae able to make is worth it. Most of the organs are obtained from third world countries and then sold to people in North America and Europe on the black market. This is usually done through hospitals and medical staff. According to the World Health Organization traffickers take possession of over 7,000 kidneys a year illegally. (Bindel). The organ trafficking trade currently has over 10,000 operations a year on the black market. This means that more than one human organ is being bought an hour and provides about 10 percent of all transplants
