Outside Factors In Choosing A Home

Hello! Thank you for taking our survey. This survey is intended to measure the all the outside factors in choosing a home. Imagine that you and your partner have a newborn baby to take care of. Your current home is located on the upper west side of Manhattan, in a cramped 1 bedroom apartment that is a few ﬂoors above broadway. Your child does not sleep well with all of the noise coming from the street, and there has been a spike in crime rate. You’ve decided to move out of the city to live in a safe environment to raise your child. You’ve found a large three bedroom house at a reasonable price. It has a fairly nice interior, though some areas are slightly warn and beaten. The space itself is nice, but there are a few problems in the plumbing and you might want to redo a few parts of the house. You’re trying to ﬁgure out whether purchasing the house is worth it, so you look at the surrounding area. PART 1: Please rate each picture according to your interest in purchasing the home. 1 . This is the backyard. The cat has been known to get into neighboring yards and eat their gardens, but the family does their best to keep an eye on the cat. 4. This is your other neighbor Alex. Alex has just moved to this neighborhood, and has gotten a job as a local contractor. He lives with his dog Tommy. Tommy has been known to get off of his leash and can be territorial, however Alex is certain that the pit bull will not cause any problems. 5. This is the local shopping center, about a 10 minute drive from your house! it covers all the basic necessities such as groceries, pharmacies, and a small movie theatre. There is also a large mall located about a mile away from the home.
