Also, I desperately need to work on my public speaking skills and my debate skills for the field I want to go into and this sounds like this would be the perfect opportunity to work on both of them. I hope it is open to me despite the fact that I am no longer a freshman. The internship opportunity as well is very important to me because having experience is so necessary for trying to establish a career and I will take all the help I can get in trying to get one and succeed in it. Especially because internships can be incredibly competitive and I want to get as much as I can out of them so I'd like to be successful. Internships are a vital part of pursuing my goal of becoming a family lawyer. I am interested in the study abroad aspect as well, it is something I've been curious about but never thought I could actually do. I would love to travel and learn about a different culture. My family was a host family to exchange students from China and South Korea. Learning about these cultures by living with people apart of them was an amazing experience and such an opportunity (though when sharing a bathroom with someone who takes an hour to do their hair it feels a little less like an amazing experience). I think understanding different cultures can help us be more accepting of others and bring about unity which we seem to be lacking. I noticed in my time as a host sister and in attending a school with a large number of exchange students that we believe we are more different than we actually are because we are from different cultures. Overall I truly believe honors college could help me pursue my goals and be beneficial to my future. I know that this is a phenomenal opportunity for me and I am just incredibly honored and thankful to even be considered. There is so much I could learn from being involved in this and I honestly am so excited by the possibility of being in honors college. I learned so much about myself this past
