Pearl Harbor The events that occurred on December 7th 1941 were caused under the commands of President FDR. There are many theories following who caused this tragedy, and why we could’ve stopped it from happening. FDR has the most reliable proof that it was his fault. There are several reliable sources saying it was his fault not the military for a number of reasons. The evening of December 6th the FDR was discussing that they decoded Japanese attacks coming their way with Commander Shultz. “This means war” FDR said. FDR wanted a war but also made it clear that we cannot make the first move going into a war. The American people wanted to stay out of war with any means necessary because world war one was so bad and lead up to the depression. “No, we can’t do that. We are a democracy and a peaceful people” Commander Shultz impression was that the president was saying “We cannot make the first move. We have to wait until it came.” This implies that FDR wanted to go to war yet wanted to be attacked first. So not just FDR but, America would want to go to war also. Admiral H. E. Kimmel was at the Pearl Harbor base and said that on November 27th He was commanded to send out the most expensive and vulnerable ships out to sea which had most of the defense against air attacks on them. They also said on the same day that they should send out from Oahu 50 percent of the military’s resources and planes. There was no reason stated. It wasn’t just a coincidence that all of this just worked out perfectly for the Japanese to strike using Airplanes. Another reason again stated by Admiral Kimmel was that the “so called war-warning dispatch of November 27th did not warn the pacific fleet of an attack in the Hawaiian area.” They specifically said that japan had no intensions to attack the Pearl Harbor base. He said that he was told “an
