Leaving home is a predictable life event, everybody hopes to leave home at some point in order to start their independent life, and this could have an effect on somebody’s development. The individual may have to change their diet as they may have a lack of cooking experience, and whilst they are learning to cook they may be making things like noodles and chicken, things that are easier to cook whilst you are still learning. The feeling of independence could also cause the individual to go out more and make the wrong decisions such as drinking and smoking, this could cause them to gain/lose weight. Secondly the individual would develop intellectually as they learnt all the new things they would need in order to survive on their own such as cooking, handling finances, setting up gas and electric bills and learning more about mortgages. Thirdly this would be emotional development for the individual as they have this new freedom but it may leave them feeling different emotions such as being lonely, scared or happy. Lastly, it would be socially development as the person would be alone and therefor have no social life around them, it could be because they cannot afford to go out with friends as they are paying for their house, a way of overcoming this would be having friends at their house in
