My transition from California to Texas in the middle of my junior year was not as graceful as I had hoped. I came from one of the worst schools in California to one of the best schools in Texas. In most of my classes I was at least three months behind, so I had to catch up while also keeping up. While the rest of my classmates where progressing and building upon information, I could only move forward a little bit at a time because I also had to work backwards to catch up on what I had missed. My grades that semester did not meet my expectations. But I did my best, applied myself, and because of this I became a better student than what my grades reflect. This college application process is not only a first for me but for my parents as well.
