“Approximately 50-70 percent of our residential water is used for landscaping, most of it to water lawns,” states (“Cut Your Lawn in Half”). In Sonoma County, a 500 square foot lawn needs 2800 gallons of water per month. There are lots of ways how we can conserve water. For, example, we can take shorter showers. Residents in California can use the dishwasher once it is entirely full of dishes and utensils. People can also install washer machines that offer a setting to use less water. Finally, if there is a leak in your house fix it (“9 Ways To Save Water in the California Drought Now”) . Among all these reasons why residents can’t save water is because they have a habit of taking long showers. Taking shorter showers can really save us lots of water.
