Socrates sort to teach younger Athenian men rather than the older generation as he believed they were too ignorant to be introduced to the new-fangled science and philosophy. Socrates tries to teach Strepsiades about how a wrong or a weak argument defeats a stronger one but it seems to a difficult task for Socrates therefore he lets him go by calling a fool and giving up. Compared to young Phedippedes, who learns very quickly under Socrates’ influence. Similarly, Socrates explanation of holiness confuses Euthyphro of what holiness actually is instead of a component of it. Even though Euthyphro is young he is still a priest which gives him higher authority and knowledge of the topic which would mean he has set meaning of holiness and religion.
