Pierre Trudeau has significantly impacted Canada in a positive Way
The government has truly been molding Canada into the wonderful country that it is today. Whether the changes have been good or bad, the government has always been trying their best to solve problems such as takes high income, racism, and making sure that Canada is seen as the cleanest and economically friendly place that it is today. However, Pierre Elliot Trudeau was unique and impacted Canadians in a positive way. He was an intelligent, and strategic man, when dealing with many different types of crisis’s, such as the economic crisis (James). Also, this shows that Pierre Elliot Trudeau put others before himself because he knew what was right for Canada as a whole and did not think about all of the haters he may receive from other places around the world for keeping Quebec as a part of Canada. Thus, creating a higher chance of him not being elected as Prime Minister in following years because people will not be realizing how his plan of keeping Quebec a part of Canada will do for Canadians in the future. Finally, Pierre Trudeau fighting to keep Quebec as a part of Canada shows that he has put his citizen before himself because he truly knows what would be the best for citizens in Quebec. If he were to let Quebec go, he would be having less stress on himself having to deal with the provinces. Clearly, Pierre Trudeau wanted what was best for his citizens and was more important to himself than making sure that his own life was safe. Pierre Trudeau also shows his ability to self sacrifice by having no tolerance for terrorists, even if it meant that he would become a main target. He made sure that all terrorists are stopped with any means. This puts more of a target on his …show more content…
For instance, he created the War Measurement Act (James). This made sure that all people who may have seemed to be enemies or FLQ members were put in jail without question up to 90 days. This proves that he was a strategic person because he was highly reducing the amount of any type of criminal attacking his citizens, or himself. It was a very intelligent act because it made others think before they act because they would know about the consequences they would have to face if they showed any signs of it. This would make them not even think about the plan, and to simply forget about it. Finally, this act shows that Pierre Elliot Trudeau was a very intelligent and intellectual person because it was able to put an end to the October Crisis, which was a crisis that many thought would not even for a long time. After all, the October Crisis was a time when many terrorists were attacking because they felt that other Quebecers would actually be supporting them for their violence. However, in reality, everyone is truly shocked with terrorism happening in Canada. Without a doubt, being Bilingual shows that Trudeau was an intelligent and strategic man. After all, he was able to persuade people in the language that they better understood.
