I have five years of work experience within the finance industry and after completing my ACA and CFA exams I have decided to broaden my skill set and am currently undertaking an MBA programme at Warwick Business School, which includes Strategy and Practice and Operations Strategy as elective modules.
I have a passion for working on advisory projects and plan to move into consultancy after completing my MBA. I am currently part of a team representing Warwick Business School in Hult Prize which is an international case competition to help solve various social issues. I am also scheduled to interview for a managerial position at one of the leading consultancies over the next few weeks. I am interested in the Volunteer Consulting Scheme as I believe it is a great learning opportunity.
My key strengths listed below make me confident in my ability to add value to potential clients:
• Through studying for the ACA and CFA exams I consolidated my knowledge of financial analysis and equity valuation models. I will aim to develop these skills when I spend part of Christmas holiday as in intern at a top tier investment bank within equity research.
• I have strong teamwork and persuasion skills which I demonstrated while working on the first project within the MBA course. Achieved first place when as part of a team presented a start-up business idea to a panel from the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). The objective of the start-up was to increase revenue and attract interest in the theatre from the younger generation
• At PwC I was committed to client service. While working on the Audit of Travelex I communicated the progress of the audit to senior members of the finance team using a traffic light system on a daily basis.
