Professor Ancona had an unfortunate term of events during his high school years. He had a serious illness which caused him to miss a year of, therefore he graduated when he was 18 years old. After he graduated high school, at the age of 19, he was drafted into the Army. He got to aid General Charles H. Bonesteel III during the Vietnam War, he also was stationed in many places such as Korea and Thailand. After he returned from the Army his father passed away. …show more content…
Ancona since he was the oldest child, this included him being a doctor. Professor Ancona didn’t know what he wanted to do until his father passed away that is when he decided to try and become a doctor. He attended Montclair College and as he was taking classes to become a doctor and was in the Bursar’s office to schedule his classes, he was surrounded by Liberal Arts student who were dancing and singing. That is where he had an epiphany to become an English professor. At first he didn’t love English, but it grew on him and he discovered his passion, which includes meeting students, or even seeing that a student has an epiphany on their own.
