Over the course of the next decade the technology of the aviation industry continued to reinvent itself with newer and better versions of navigation and communication equipment due to the increased amount of aviation traffic, and highly visible aircraft accidents which alerted the legislators and the general that the aviation industry needed an overhaul, so on May 21, 1958, Senator A. S. “Mike” Monroney introduced a bill to create a separate entity to track all aviation responsibilities.
