The life of Reba McEntire is fun-filled and family oriented. She was born on March 28, 1955, in McAlester Oklahoma. Reba has always been talented from a young age. McEntire started singing at age five. While she also taught herself to play the guitar. Reba’s determination and hard work has earned her the title of ‘Queen of Country Music’; she has accomplished much in her lifetime, and is continuing to do so. This is how Reba was called into fame, and what she decided to do while in the spotlight. In the early life of Reba, she grew up on a ranch with her family. She often helped out on the ranch, she drove her father’s truck around while he fed the cattle off the back of it. Reba had three siblings. Her mother was the person that taught her and her siblings to sing. McEntire did competitive barrel racing with her father, and she enjoyed it greatly. Soon Reba and her siblings formed a band called The Singing McEntires. This singing group performed at rodeos. Here’s one, Faith Hill auditioned as a backup singer for McEntire’s band, although she didn’t get the part, she ended up becoming a famous country music singer herself. Here is something else you may not know; Reba’s siblings are also singing as a career. Her sister is a gospel singer, and her brother is in country music. She was also named after her grandmother Reba Estelle Brassfield. Reba also enjoys photography. This is a main hobby she likes doing, along with skeet shooting. McEntire also lost eight members of her band, including her manager. She lost them from a plane crash on March 16, 1991. While she also lost the pilot, and copilot flying the plane on that day. She was incredibly close to all of her band members, so this crash really hurt
