In my Roman Catholic religion rituals are common in order to remember important events of the past and for celebration. For example, there is the ancient tradition of the Easter Wake (or Veglia Pasquale in Italian), in which Catholics spend all night gathered in church, remembering all the steps of the Via Crucis (in English it should be called Stations of the Cross). Saint Augustine referred to it as the mother wake of all wakes, because our Lord passed to save His people from all sins.
