Rosa Parks was a brave and determined woman and would help anyone. Rosa Parks was a civil rights icon that helped change race relations. Rosa Parks was born on February 4,1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama. Rosa Parks full name was Rosa Louise McCauley Parks. Her parents had separated, their mother had moved them to Pine Level Alabama. Following the end of the civil war and adoption of the 13th amendment, white southerners were not happy with the end of slavery, however, the prospect of living and working equally with blacks they considered inferior(Jim Crow laws racial segregation).To try and maintain the status quo, the majority of states and local communities passed Jim Crow laws(Jim Crow law racial segregation).This explains that whites didn't think that blacks should be allowed to work with them. These laws authorized legal punishments of consorting with the opposite race. Education was segregated as were public facilities such as hotels and restaurants under Jim crow laws. The most important Jim crow laws required attending separate schools and churches, they use public bathrooms marked for colored people only in separate section of a restaurant and had to sit in the rear of the bus even though there were seats open (Jim Crow and racial segregations). This can be shown as unfair because whites could do whatever they wanted and blacks had to go to the separate things it affected others because it was unfair, we were all human so why didn't we get treated like the white people did. The Jim Crow laws saw the wide usage as a reference to practices or institute that arose to the physical segregation of black people from white people. Her trial for this act of civil disobedience triggered the Montgomery Bus Boycott, one of the most successful mass movements against racial segregation in history. In 1890 in spite of its 16 black members including Rosa Parks, the Louisiana General Assembly passed Jim Crow laws( Jim Crow law and racial segregation).
