On October 1st, a 64 year old man by the name of Stephen Paddock opened fire atop a hotel shooting citizens partaking in the Route 91 harvest festival. He left at least 59 people dead, and injured 527 others. The country music being played by Jason Aldean and his guests stopped after audience members began to fall to the floor, bleeding and dying. An online video shows just that, as people begin screaming “Get down!” and “Stay down!”
The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed that Mr. Paddock was one of their soldiers, although no evidence has yet been provided of his connections, nor does it seem to be related to any political beliefs thus far. At the very least, 23 automatic firearms were found in Paddock’s apartment, it seems that after one firearm ran out of bullets, he would toss it aside and grab another. Some of the firearms were AR-15’s along with explosives.…show more content… Padlock, he was not raised in the best of conditions, but not the worst, his father was in jail for a bank robbery, and his family constantly moved around the country. When Mr. Padlock’s brother was interviewed, he stated his brother was “Not an avid gun guy at all….The fact that he had those kind of weapons is just — where the hell did he get automatic weapons?” Las Vegas may take awhile to recover from this mass shooting, along with the singers and guests, after all, this has been confirmed as the worst mass shooting in American history, beating the Orlando shooting, which killed 49 and wounded
