In Mark Bixler’s Lost Boys of Sudan, 4 young boys fleeing to the United States must learn how to survive in their new world as refugees from a war torn land. The Lost Boys of Sudan is about the excitement and disorientation of 4 young boys orphaned and displaced from their home country and their introduction into the more modern world. The Lost Boys initial hardships in the United States, such as acquiring an education, or dealing with post-9/11 xenophobia, or generally being self sufficient, illustrates the wondrous human resolve to continue on with life, despite the most abject of circumstances.
