This article will be used in the historiography of the families’ involvement in the POW/MIA issue. It will also serve as a secondary source to describe the political struggles and cooperation between the POW/MIA families with the President Reagan and his predecessors. The article describes the two conflicts, the first one in the inclusion of a Vietnam War Crypt of the Tomb of Unknown Soldiers while the second one in its excavation and identification. The article is primarily based on the newspaper articles channeling the advocates of POW/MIA activists. It also depends on a decent number of archival files related to the POW/MIA issues after the Vietnam War and the decision of selecting a set of remains to the Tomb of Unknown Soldiers. The article
