The company has built a collection of some of the world’s best media brands including Disney, ESPN, ABC, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm that provide enormous opportunities for the company to continue to create high-quality content. Disney's ability to monetize its characters and franchises across multiple platforms--movies, home video sales, merchandising, and theme parks—is unparalleled in the media industry. Also, Disney's theme parks and resorts are not easily replicable, considering the tie-ins with its other business lines. ESPN is a leader in sports programming. It holds a dominant position in college and pro football programming in the US.
