Syliva Likens
Born on (January 3, 1949 – October 26, 1965) she was the third child of carnival worker Lester Cecil Likens (1926–2013) and his wife Elizabeth Frances "Betty" (née Grimes, 1927–1998). She was born between two sets of fraternal twins. Jenny and Benny (one year younger, the former disabled by polio). Her parents' marriage was unstable. They moved frequently, and the parents had money issues/ difficulties. You would think that with this many children, they would have at least thought about needing to have money and a stable shelter for their children. Her life could have been saved if people would have opened their mouths. First, her parents shouldnt have left her with someone who was obviously showing signs before they even left of abuse. Secondly, her sister should have ran and told someone as soon as it started getting serious. Thirdly, the teachers should have ran a report as soon as she told her and also maybe try to get in contact with her actual parents. And lastly, the police officers should have ON THE SPOT, took her in custody and got a search warrant on the house to try to see, instead of laughing. Does it anger you so much as it angers me? She wasn't even an adult, she had her whole life ahead of her, but instead was taken from her, and could have been prevented but wasn't.
