Before practicing with or handling any gun, you and only you are responsible to check and verify that it is not loaded and that it is empty of any ammunition (thewellarmedwoman). Other than improving your handling and execution of your gun, you will learn how to better operate not only the firearm but your instincts as well. When making quick decisions you should learn and understand the legal, practical, ethical, and tactical matters before you can apply that knowledge on the street. Decision making at its most basic is shoot/don’t shoot drills. Shooters must be constantly assessing a situation or scenario, and make decisions based on their training and experience. Daily practice will help preven injuries with a firearm as well as articulating a decision.
