Ray Bradbury’s description of the dystopia in Fahrenheit 451 portrays the downfall of society through censorship of technology, importance of education, and misuse of power. In 1953 Ray Bradbury had a vision on the disappearance of books and on the way this disappearance would happen. Bradbury thought if books are banned in the future there would be lots of danger. In the novel Fahrenheit 451 books are not read anymore they are not allowed, the society is trying to stop publishing books all together.The community now have technology where they read books on instead of reading them on paper. Montag was really not happy with his job, he was a fireman but he started fires instead of putting them out. Throughout Montag’s career he stole books instead of burning them because he enjoyed reading. The town only watch television and listened to the radio, they live in a futuristic community where they use technology to control how people feel and think by controlling what they see and hear. Technology is really an enemy for the people in the book Fahrenheit 451 because they are afraid to live the life that they want to live. The government are breaking families and friendship apart because of technology, all of our lives are sucked into a device and we are not even realizing it. Technology was suppose to be a tool for humankind but it is misused and abused in so many ways, bad things happen in the world everyday but the government always find a way to distract us on the internet. The real world and Fahrenheit 451 are similar, because the government are controlling our lives with technology it is not as bad as the government in the novel.
