TEEN ACTIVISM JASON FREDRICKS
Teen activist are people under 19 that want to make a change in our community and even the world. Malala Yousafzai, Alex Lin, Iqbal Masih, and Alex Libby are some teen activist that wanted to make a change in our community. Some people become teen activists because they were bullied. For example, Alex Libby became a teen activist because of how he was treated and didn't want everyone treated the same way. Teen activism isn't easy, there are several challenges along the way like getting shot, physical violence, and laws not passing. For example, Malala was targeted by the Taliban for speaking about how she thought that women should be educated equally and in result she was shot in the head by two taliban soldiers but luckily survived. Secondly,Alex libby wasn't targeted the same way that Malala was but instead was targeted by the school and was punched and picked on every second of the school day and afterward all because he thought that getting bullied was wrong. This also shows that even though people target and try to hurt you both mentally and physically that they still fight for what they think is the right thing.
Lastly, one of the challenges for people like Alex lin is that there laws did not pass. For example Alex lin tried to pass laws so that it is illegal for people to E-waste because it harms the environment. When Alex first with to quart to get his law passed, it didn't pass. After several tries, not giving up the law finally passed. This shows that even if it doesn't go your way the first time you have to keep trying until it does.
In conclusion, teen activists face obstacles on their way to getting there word out but need to keep trying. Even after getting shot and abused all of these teen activists spoke out and are still making a difference
