The story “The Doll’s House” is told where there is an omniscient narrator. With this point of view the reader can get a perspective of all of the thoughts from each character. Such as what Kezia is thinking when she sees the lamp in the dollhouse for the first time. Also with this point of view the author allows the reader to get an insight on the secret happenings of many of the characters. Such as when Kezia shows the dollhouse to Elise and Lil without anyone else knowing. Throughout the story this point of view lets the reader see different thoughts and know what each character is thinking and doing. For example, the reader would know Lil’s thoughts only and would not know about Kezia’s and Isabel’s actions and family. When Lil runs away from the dollhouse with Elise, you would know only what Lil thinks. This means that you would also not know why the aunt ran of Lil and Elise. With using point of view, you would not get as much information from the characters. Writing this story in a different point of view would also have its drawbacks. When you write in first-person point of view, you are only able to view one character’s thoughts and emotions. Unlike third-person where you know all of the character’s thoughts and feelings. Third-person omniscient is told by an anonymous narrator who happens to know everything about every character. This is why it is the best point of view for “The Doll’s House” to be written in. In conclusion, writing this essay in third-person would be the best way. If you write this story in first-person it will not give you as much insight to the characters emotions and feelings towards each other. With using third-person you will know all the characters thoughts and actions. However, both points of view have their own
