The Dust Bowl was a horrible catastrophe. It lasted for seven years in the 1930’s, and it also affected seventy-five percent of the United States, that's twenty-seven states. People fled to California by the thousands. The Dust Bowl was man made. The Dust Bowl killed many families. They had to live out in the open and they could not breath very well. There were many severe dust storms every day for seven years and people, and would live there normal lives. Children would still go to school in the middle of a storm. It damaged the ecology and agriculture in the United States and Canada. Thousands of millions of pounds of dust was moved around. It was also bad time because the Great Depression was going on.
