“Critical Thinking is an essential component of Nursing since a nurse is always, by profession, confronted with complex situations, which demand accurate judgments, clinical decision-making and a continuous learning process” (American Society of Registered Nurses [ASRN], 2007). By definition, critical thinking is “logical, purposive, and outcome-oriented process driven by patients’ needs and guided by professional standards, policies, and procedures as well as ethical codes and rules” (Tajvidi, Ghiyasvandian, & Salsali, 2014). Critical thinking is different from critical awareness (Indiana Wesleyan University [IWU], n.d.).
