Differences in power between people and how it’s been used date back to the first human civilization or the creation of Earth, depending on what you believe. In “The Crucible” the characters are Puritans who blame and get blamed for trying to defame people, this causes a mass hysteria within the community of Salem. Reverend Parris and the Judges are the characters who hold the most power within the community; this becomes more evident as drama ensues. The exploitation, reliance, and influence of power are the many ways these characters have utilized power created by the trials, causing harm from an overwhelming gap in power that shouldn’t be happening.
