A. Text to Self- “The Necklace”
Madame Loisel wants something she doesn’t have, she wants to have a status symbol for the party, Madame Loisel wants the necklace. This has happened to me as well: wanting new shoes, a new phone, a new gaming console, etc. The difference between Madame Loisel’s actions and mine is that personally, I haven’t lost one of my possessions so I never had to work off the money to pay for a replacement. Madame Loisel’s situation is peculiar though since she wanted to have all the extravagant things in life but when she gets even a taste of anything extravagant it appears Madame Loisel doesn’t even know how to handle it. Madame Loisel is very materialistic and greedy but we can also dive into her husband’s actions and how he is very passive to his wife.
