“Ok first thing is the most obvious thing which is diesel is much more expensive than gas. second is diesels are very noisy this is a pro to some and a con to others. diesel has better gas mileage than regular gas engines but the margin on that is narrowing quickly. everyone would think gasoline is a more efficient engine but in fact the diesel is the most efficient engine.
Many people choose diesel over gasoline for its distinct advantages. Diesel does get more fuel economy than gasoline. Diesel is more than 33% more efficient than gasoline is when it comes to your fuel mileage. This means if you were to get for example, 30 miles to the gallon, a diesel equivalent engine would get 40 miles per gallon. Diesel needs to be run through a diesel engine, and diesel engines offer more torque than a gasoline engine. Torque allows for great acceleration, which also accounts for the great fuel economy numbers.” - Armaan Almeida …show more content…
However, the growing emergence of direct-injected and turbocharged gasoline engines have made the fuel economy difference between gas and diesel engines much smaller than before. Seredynski said that regardless of fuel, the end goal is the same: maximum power from the minimum amount of fuel.- Edward A.
