Researchers believe LSD should not be medically used because it is an abusive drug, and claim that it can lead users to having unpredictable effects. LSD is said to alleviate effects of mental illnesses. The researchers concluded that the effects of LSD are unpredictable and maybe even long- term as well. It also depends on the amount of dosage used, and the surroundings of the drug being used. The use of LSD can lead to long-term effects of depression, psychosis, schizophrenia, and other kinds of mental illnesses. LSD can bring on strong, but temporary changes to a persons experience in life and in reality too. It is a very powerful hallucinogen drug that can drastically affect their experiences, which can lead to tripping. Before an LSD trip can happen, it can bring about serious effects and trauma to the person using it. …show more content…
As it effects the person, he or she starts to feel out of touch. They become incoherent, a bit goofy, and anxious at the time. As the trip progresses the person starts to become more emotional to the drug. This drug makes you feel not like yourself, which is not a good sign. In the article “What Are the Risks of LSD,” it explains that “The worst part is that the LSD user is unable to tell which sensations are created by the drug and which are part of reality” (“What Are the Risks of LSD,” par. 4).
