Theme Of Resoluteness In Literature

The second example of literature that shows resoluteness is Temple Grandin. She once said, “The most important thing people did for me was to expose me to the new things.” When people are introduced to new problems they can choose resoluteness and fix it or give up. Temple Grandin was saying when she was exposed to new problems that is what was able to give her such a strong will to keep going. Her not giving up when put in new and difficult circumstances is the perfect example of how to be resolute in life. The next quote Temple said was, “Pressure is calming to the nervous system.” When put under pressure resoluteness is going to be easier to show. Marcus said in his book, “Getting to a place of comfort can be uncomfortable” A person can do anything if they are determined. Being determined is going to take a person out of their comfort zone, but with resoluteness anyone could make it through. He used this in his life when trying to become a chef. At new restaurants he moved to new positions he had never experienced previously. This made him nervous because Marcus wanted to show how good he was, but it was hard to do with tasks he had never done. In those situations though Marcus asked for training so he could be the best, and when he struggled with it he went early and stayed late to learn to be the best at those tasks. Marcus Samuelsson would not take being less than perfect. His idea of making sure he was perfect took a lot of resoluteness as he had to put in many extra hours and fail before finding success. The big idea Marcus said was, “No matter how big your dreams may seem, dream bigger.” Do not let anyone stand in the way of a person’s dreams and limit their accomplishments, stay resolute and break through every limit. Marcus did this in his life by only working for three star or better restaurants, so he could be the best. After setting this goal he shattered it by then managing a four star restaurant. He purposefully made it difficult for himself so that he would struggle, but in those struggles he did not give up until
